| Breyerfest 2008, Day 1 (Friday) |
[23 July 2008|03:26pm] |
I've started going through my second horse-crazy phase. I loved horses as a kid/teenager, but didn't pursue the craze through college (even though the first college I attended had a stable! I really should have taken lessons… oh well.)
calicougar mentioned Breyerfest to me. I had been to a few model horse shows, thanks to calicougar, but the main draw of Breyerfest was the horses themselves! calicougar wanted to meet up there, and since I hadn't seen her for a couple of years I agreed. Yay, friends and horses!
( Breyerfest 2008! Many photos, and long! )

| To the artists who contributed Pallas' Cat art! |
[16 February 2007|05:19pm] |
If any of you artists have contributed Pallas' cat art to my website, there's a fellow named Mike Friese who has been asking to reprint art for a newsletter. Here is the email I received from him:
Karena,
I edit the Feline Conservation Federation Journal, a magazine of hands-on exotic feline husbandry which just celebrated its 50th year. FCF is a non-profit organization.
Could I reprint your Pallas' cat painting? In addition to a credit, upon publication I'll send you the printed version of the journal with your artwork.
Mike Friese
This is a genuine organization, and I'm personally pleased to be asked to have my art in the 'zine. In fact, looking at some of the topics of their past 'zines, I may subscribe just because it looks kind of cool!
Just wanted to let you all know.

| Whoops |
[06 December 2005|11:15am] |
Has it really been over a year since I last posted here? Time seems to go by so quickly. Anyway, I updated the needlefelting page with 6 sculptures that hadn't been put up yet.
I still need to put up a commission page.

| Hooray. |
[10 July 2004|04:39pm] |
I have finally gotten off my lazy rump and finished Dragonsmirk. It's now open for business. Feel free to mock my bad design. I never said I was a web designer! ;)
Now I'll have to get busy and keep updating it regularly from now!

I have done little to no work on dragonsmirk.com! Go me!
However, I have started a sketch journal at stripedhyena. Feel free to check it out if you like. Don't expect masterpieces there. ;D

| Update |
[05 November 2003|07:15pm] |
I suddenly realized that while I know what's going on with my site, no one else does.
Dragonsmirk is about 60% (re)done, but I've been distracted by National Novel Writing Month for the month of November. I'm writing about hyenas, yay! I don't see Dragonsmirk getting finished in November. Perhaps in December I'll kick myself in the butt and get the site wrapped up.

| Website progression |
[08 September 2003|08:55am] |

Yes, I am actually working on my site! Things are slowly but surely coming together. I need to wrangle some of my animations to put up. o_O And tonight get some photos of my guinea pigs for the pets page. :D

| Whee! |
[05 July 2003|09:58pm] |
Dragonsmirk.com is currently down for the count (being moved to a new server). It will be back, bigger but not necessarily better. :D
You can see the work in progress here.

| Behind the scenes |
[30 April 2003|06:24pm] |
Well, I started reading the Teach Yourself CSS in 24 Hours book. So far so good. I also finished the splash page image, and am somewhat pleased with it, though it won't be uploaded until the entire site is redone.
More importantly, I took steps to get my password re-assigned on Network Solutions so I can work on transferring dragonsmirk's dns information over to a different provider, then whee!
I hope to have the site done this summer.
I apologize for the boringness of this entry. I think I will go have dinner now.

| Pallas cats |
[03 April 2003|12:19pm] |
|
I just love me some Pallas cats!
I don't know why. I'm not a huge cat fan- I like them okay, but I'm more of a canine/hyena/viverrid person. But I love Pallas cats. LOVE THEM.
